What people actually run on our VPS

A VPS at Cryptoservers behaves like a real machine — you get full root, your own kernel, nested virtualisation, and raw socket access. Here's what most of our customers deploy.

VPN & Wireguard exits

Dedicated IP, editable PTR, full-route IPv6 — spin up your own OpenVPN, Wireguard, Shadowsocks or Outline endpoint without middlemen.

Game & voice servers

Low-jitter links, DDoS-absorbent edge, kernel-level UDP throughput. CS2, Minecraft, Rust, Valheim, TeamSpeak, Mumble — drop a binary and go.

Web apps & APIs

Drop in Docker, Caddy, Nginx or Traefik. Let's Encrypt works on day one. Run a Rails monolith, a Node API, a WordPress site or a Next.js build.

Tor

Tor relays & hidden services

Explicitly allowed (including exit nodes on request). Run a middle relay, bridge, or onion service without the usual "we terminate if abuse" boilerplate.

Dev, staging & CI

Throwaway build boxes, preview environments, self-hosted GitLab / Forgejo / Gitea, CI runners, integration-test fleets. Snapshots are included.

Streaming & origin

ffmpeg transcoding, HLS/DASH origin, Jellyfin, Icecast, Owncast — combine with unmetered bandwidth to pump hours of media without overage bills.

Real chips. ECC memory. Local NVMe.

No shared-spinning-disk surprises. Every compute node we operate is a named SKU — here's what you're actually renting fractions of.

Is VPS the right fit?

Most workloads are fine on a VPS. Reach for dedicated only when you need every cycle of a CPU, custom kernels that can't live in a VM, or predictable I/O for I/O-bound databases.

VPS · $16.99 – $69/mo

Pick VPS when…

You want the cheapest root-access box that can run anything, upgrade on the fly, and scale horizontally across jurisdictions.

  • You need a VM live in 60 seconds
  • You value price elasticity & monthly flex
  • Your workload fits in ≤ 32 GB RAM
  • You don't need a specific CPU SKU
  • Resellers, app hosts, VPN, dev boxes

Dedicated · $79 – $599/mo

Pick dedicated when…

You need every core of a specific CPU, private I/O pipelines, custom RAID, or full-box IPMI access — not a slice of a hypervisor.

  • I/O-bound databases, heavy caches
  • Custom kernels, DPDK, passthrough
  • Compliance requires sole-tenant
  • > 32 GB RAM or 10+ cores needed full-time
  • Rendering, simulation, HFT, Web3 nodes

VPS questions, answered

How fast is my VPS up and running?
Median time from confirmed payment to SSH login is 41 seconds. Monero payments clear in one confirmation (~2 minutes), Bitcoin in one confirmation on our end (~10 minutes). Deploys run on our orchestrator — no manual tickets, no business hours.
Do I get real root access and custom kernels?
Yes — every plan is KVM-virtualised with full root, ability to boot custom ISOs, load kernel modules, run Docker / LXC / nested virtualisation and use raw sockets. You can rebuild your initramfs and reboot from an emergency shell without opening a ticket.
Which operating systems can I install?
Templates: Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine, Arch, Rocky, Fedora, FreeBSD and Windows Server. You can also upload a custom ISO or netboot from ipxe. Switching images is two clicks and a reboot — no reinstall fee.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan later?
Up-grades are live — we hot-resize vCPU and RAM without shutdown; disk expansion reboots once. Down-grades happen on the next billing cycle. You can also just destroy and rebuild — snapshots take 30 seconds to restore.
Do you allow Tor exit nodes, VPN, Wireguard?
Yes — explicitly. Tor relays (including exits), Wireguard, OpenVPN, Shadowsocks, Outline, SOCKS proxies and personal VPNs are all allowed. We ask that you respond to legitimate abuse notices (CSAM, credible threats, phishing) within 48 hours — everything else stays up.
Do you keep logs of my VPS traffic?
No. We don't mirror customer NICs, don't store netflow, and don't retain ARP/MAC tables beyond 24 hours. The control panel keeps billing records and API action logs (provisioning, reboots) — minimum needed to run the service. Details in our Privacy Policy.
What happens during a DDoS attack?
Every IP is behind our anycast scrubbing fabric — up to 1 Tbps of capacity, automatic L3/L4 mitigation, optional L7 rules for HTTP(S). No opt-in, no extra charge. Game-server, auth-flow and streaming templates are one-click.
What's included by default, and what's an add-on?
Included: full root, 1× IPv4 + /64 IPv6, DDoS shield, editable reverse DNS, rebuild-from-ISO, hourly snapshots (7-day retention), KVM-over-VNC emergency console, API & Terraform provider. Optional at checkout: extra IPv4 addresses, private VLANs, backup storage, managed-panel licences.
